Luxair: Technical relaunch of the booking platform LuxairTours with Drupal 8
The tour operator LuxairTours is part of the LuxairGroup, offering sunny destinations and attractive package deals since 1968. By now, LuxairTours shows a wide range for every travel taste in four categories. As in the case of many players from the tourism industry, the competition to win travelers starts on the website at the latest.
Therefore, the website of LuxairTours was being optimized for the conversion by accurately and quickly delivering the desired results in the form of bookings.
The focus here was on both new and existing customers, and users should experience an emotional brand that allows easy and fast cross-device bookings.
Technical implementation was the main challenge here, in addition to decisive aspects of the user experience. The all-important aims of the project were implementation of the booking processes and ensuring the smooth performance and perfect integration of the different IT systems, e.g. the booking engine.
Our goals: Smooth, technical implementation within an agile development process with front and back end on Drupal 8 based on the requirements of UX and design.
Working in close collaboration with Luxair’s internal development team, we set up a fully responsive, multilingual booking platform. The MVP and the associated user stories were developed on the basis of Scrum, and technical integration with Luxair’s own system and third-party systems (booking engine) was seamlessly implemented.
Our results: LuxairTours customers experience now a high-performance website that provides an efficient and satisfying booking experience – and our journey with Luxair is by no means finished.
